‘DawnLeaks’ was a minor part of this scheme
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui has said an atmosphere was created to overthrow Nawaz Sharif, adding ‘DawnLeaks’ was a minor part of this scheme.
Appearing on Dunya News programme ‘Baat Niklay Gi', Irfan Siddiqui said he advocated for the appointment of Gen Bajwa as army chief.
He revealed that Nawaz Sharif told him that on his opinion Gen Bajwa was being made army chief, adding Nawaz Sharif was worried over the matter of ‘DawnLeaks’.
Irfan Siddiqui said efforts were made to enter the name of Maryam Nawaz in ‘DawnLeaks’.
He said he went to see Gen Bajwa the same evening when he tweeted. The senator said Gen Bajwa told him that the PM stabbed him in the back.
The PML-N leader claimed that Gen Bajwa later realised his mistake and said he should not have tweeted ‘rejected’.
He said Nawaz Sharif wanted to give a strong reaction to Gen Bajwa, adding Bajwa himself admitted that he had no complaint against Nawaz Sharif.
