LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government has decided not to extend the summer holidays, with all schools across the province set to reopen on August 24 as scheduled.

Secretary Schools Mudassar Riaz said there had been no decision to prolong the school vacations and urged parents not to pay attention to rumors regarding a possible extension.

He confirmed that schools across Punjab would resume operations on August 24 according to the announced schedule.

Meanwhile, the School Education Department has directed public and private schools to complete cleaning, security and other essential arrangements before reopening after the summer break.

Authorities have ordered special cleaning measures at all schools, including the cleaning of rooftops, water tanks and drainage systems.

School administrations have been instructed to ensure that necessary preparations are completed before students return to classrooms.
