Achakzai said they guaranteed that negotiations would continue until all outstanding issues were resolved after the meeting with the PTI founder. He urged all political parties to agree on the supremacy of the Constitution, saying the political crisis could be resolved through dialogue and constitutional supremacy.
The opposition leader said governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would not be accepted under any circumstances and warned of resistance if it was imposed. He said a nationwide protest would be launched and roads across the country would be blocked in such a situation.
Achakzai also said they did not recognise the Shehbaz government. Regarding the appointment of the chief election commissioner and members of the Election Commission, he said he would not meet the prime minister or National Assembly speaker at their offices. He said he was ready to discuss the appointments at Nawaz Sharif’s residence in Murree, stressing that the appointments should be made according to the constitutional procedure.
