LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Inspector General of Punjab has ordered an inquiry into the case of suspended DSP Usman Haider, accused of murdering his wife and daughter.

The inquiry to ascertain facts has been assigned to SSP Internal Accountability Bureau (IAB) Lahore, Atif Nazir, who has been directed to complete the probe and submit a report within 60 days.

According to police officials, the SSP IAB will review the investigation conducted so far, record statements of investigating officers, and obtain a statement from under-trial accused DSP Usman Haider lodged in jail. All aspects of the case will be examined in detail.

Based on the inquiry report, the Punjab IG will decide on Usman Haider’s dismissal from service.

Following his arrest in the murder case, the IG Punjab had already suspended him from duty.
