Summary Balochistan High Court rejects Afghan medical students’ petition, ruling foreign nationals have no unlimited right to study or train in Pakistan.
QUETTA (Dunya News) - The Balochistan High Court has rejected a petition seeking permission for Afghan medical students to continue their education and training in Pakistan.
The case was heard by a bench comprising Justice Muhammad Amir Nawaz Rana and Justice Abdul Qayum Lehri, which dismissed the petition filed by the Afghan medical students.
The court ruled that foreign nationals do not have an unlimited right to continue education or receive training in Pakistan, adding that matters concerning immigration, deportation and national security fall within the government’s authority.
The court observed that Afghan nationals are entitled to humane treatment, dignity and legal safeguards. However, despite these protections, they do not have an unlimited right to stay or pursue education in Pakistan.
The Balochistan High Court also directed the affected students to approach the Afghan Embassy for redressal of their grievances.
