LAHORE (Muhammad Ashfaq) - A decision has been made to transfer one judge each from the Lahore High Court, Sindh High Court, and Balochistan High Court to the Islamabad High Court, with an official notification expected soon.

According to sources, a high-level meeting was held in Islamabad, attended by senior judicial officials and government ministers, where the decision to transfer the judges was finalised.

Judicial sources confirmed that consultations with the Lahore High Court chief justice had been completed, while correspondence with the Sindh and Balochistan high courts regarding the transfers was in final stages.

It has been reported that Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar from the Lahore High Court would be transferred to the Islamabad High Court, where he would serve as a senior judge.

Following the expected elevation of Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq to the Supreme Court, Justice Dogar is likely to be appointed as the next Chief Justice.

Similarly, one judge each from the Sindh High Court and Balochistan High Court would be transferred to the Islamabad High Court, increasing the total number of judges from 10 to 13.

The consultation process regarding the transfer of these three judges has been completed, and orders would be issued by the President of Pakistan under Article 200 of the Constitution, with the notification expected to be released shortly.
