Establishment of independent Palestinian state on pre-1967 borders is inevitable: PM
DUBAI (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that lasting and just peace can only be achieved by resolving the Palestine issue in accordance with the UN resolutions.
Addressing the Dubai World Government Summit, the Prime Minister praised the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the successful holding of the summit.
He said that the meeting is taking place at a time when Gaza is trying to emerge from the effects of the deadly conflict, the capital of an independent Palestine is Jerusalem, and a genocidal operation was carried out in Gaza.
Shehbaz Sharif said that 50,000 Palestinians were martyred in the Gaza operation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the pre-1967 borders is inevitable.
The Prime Minister said that Dubai is the economic hub of the future, Uraan Pakistan is an important step in economic development, taxes are being reduced to promote solar energy, and the inflation rate has come down to 2.4.
He said that Pakistan will obtain energy from renewable sources by 2030. He also said that the policy rate has reached 12 percent and Pakistanis have faced many challenges in seven decades.
The PM said that energy and infrastructure are the basic components of national economic transformation, nuclear, wind, water and solar energy projects are being promoted, and the capacity to generate another 13,000 MW of electricity from hydro-power projects will be increased.
PM Shehbaz said that 70 percent of Pakistan's population is under the age of 30, skilled workforce and strategic location are ideal for investment.
Finally, he added that steps are being taken to facilitate investment in the country, and a Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has been established to promote it.
