Justice Jahangiri deems it illegal to write advocate on vehicles' number plates
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court's Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri deemed it illegal to write advocate on the number plates of cars.
Distributing certificates among the lawyers of the IHC Bar Association, he said “nowadays lawyers have easy access to courts compared to the time that we were practicing law.”
Regretting a lack of due preparation by some lawyers for hearing, he found it deeply disappointing and a practice which had harmed the judiciary's image.
Mentioning his own struggle, he recalled strenuous efforts he had to put in before becoming a judge. He said he rose to the position of judge on merit as he never sought anyone's favour.
