Summary Locals reject India’s claim of killing militants on LoC, saying two unarmed civilians searching livestock were shot dead instead.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Claims by India of killing two alleged militants along the Line of Control (LoC) have been disputed by residents of the border area.

According to reports, Indian authorities had stated that two militants were killed on April 23, 2025, in the Sarjeev sector. However, local residents say the individuals were civilians.

Residents of Sarjeev stated that the deceased, identified as Malik Farooq and Muhammad Deen, aged between 50 and 60, had gone near the LoC to search for their livestock.

They said both men were unarmed and were shot by Indian forces, rejecting the claim that they were militants. Locals described the incident as unjust, alleging that labeling civilians as militants was a wrongful act.
