ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Ministry for Industries and Production, in collaboration with provincial governments, has announced subsidised price of Rs130 per kilogram for sugar.

A meeting between provincial governments and sugar mill owners was held to decide the subsidised rate for sugar. According to an announcement after the meeting, there will be a subsidy of Rs20 on per kg sugar.

This price will be implemented at designated stalls that will be managed by sugar mills throughout the country.

These stalls are set to open three days prior to the start of Ramazan and will remain operational until the 27th day of the month, ensuring that consumers have ample access to sugar during this important period.

To facilitate purchases, sugar will be available in smaller packages of 1-2 kg, with a maximum purchase limit of 5 kg per national identity card.

This measure is aimed at helping families manage their sugar needs while also preventing bulk buying that could lead to shortages.
