GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) - The survivors of boat capsizing in Morocco are still in trauma and horrendous memories are haunting them even they have returned home.
Amir Ali, the survivor of Morocco boat capsizing incident, returned Pakistan with extremely painful experiences from his voyage.
Ali said that he started his journey on July 23, 2024 from Karachi airport to Ethiopia.
He landed in Senegal after a transit of few hours at Addis Ababa airport. He was taken to Mauritius by road from Senegal.
Amir revealed that he was kept in a safe house in Mauritius for six months where there were more than 100 other safe houses. He said that he gave Rs2.4 million to human traffickers till Mauritius.
“We started our journey from Mauritius to Spain in a boat,” he said.

There were 88 people in the boat including 66 Pakistanis, he added. He said that African human traffickers used to beat them inhumanely.
“The human traffickers tortured us with iron rods and hammers for 13 days,” he said.
They dumped the dead bodies in the sea but Ali was rescued by Morocco coast guards fortunately.
Ali lauded the role of Moroccan embassy of Pakistan while saying that Moroccan forces admitted him in hospital and transferred 22 Pakistanis in camps.
The young man also revealed that Pakistani human traffickers have made various safe houses in Mauritius with the help of many African traffickers.
“Pakistani Human trafficker Maulvi Usman receives money in Mauritius,” he revealed.
