Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan seeks report on the incident
SHIKARPUR (Dunya News) - A policeman embraced martyrdom in a gun attack in Madeeji, Dunya news reported here on Thursday.
Police were on a routine patrol when some unidentified opened fire on them. As a result of their firing, a policeman was killed. The assailants escaped after the incident.
Law enforcers were called to the scene who launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the attack. Security was stepped up in the area as police launched a manhunt for the fleeing attackers.
Taking notice of the incident, Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar ordered Shikarpur SSP to tender him a report on the incident, and launch an intelligence based operation to track down the perpetrators at the earliest.
He condoled with family of the martyred policeman and issued directions to police high-ups to visit the bereaved family.
