Summary DG ISPR details an alleged Indian false-flag operation, presenting a timeline and questioning claims surrounding a reported terrorist incident in IIOJK.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry is holding an important press conference about “another false-flag” operation by India.

Addressing the media, DG ISPR said he would discuss what he described as a “so-called terrorist incident” and an alleged false-flag operation staged by India’s political and military leadership.

Indian media had claimed that the individual allegedly killed in the incident was affiliated with the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and was serving in the Pakistan military. The reports, citing unnamed sources, identified the individual as Mohammad Asif.

He presented a five-point timeline, stating that the sequence of events began on September 29.

Reading from a social media post by the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, the DG ISPR said that on the night of September 29, the Indian corps deployed in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) claimed that, based on joint intelligence reports, the Indian Army, police and CRPF had launched an operation in the general area of Korag, Yousmarg.

He then referred to another Chinar Corps post, dated the morning of September 30, which claimed that Indian forces had recovered the body of a “Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist.”

The military spokesperson said Indian news agency ANI later reported that the deceased had been identified as Mohammad Asif, who had allegedly been inducted into the Special Services Group (SSG).

The DG ISPR added that India’s Ministry of Home Affairs and Press Information Bureau also repeated the same claims.

DG ISPR said that India later provided further details linking the alleged terrorist to a person named Asif Ilyas, whereas Muhammad Asif was sitting in front of the media.

At this point, the military spokesperson presented Muhammad Asif to the media, where he explained the facts surrounding the matter.

Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Indian media had claimed that the deceased, Muhammad Asif, was a havaldar in the Special Services Group (SSG).

He said such reports had brought back memories of the Uri and Pahalgam incidents.

Muhammad Asif says ‘I am alive’

Speaking to the media, Havaldar Muhammad Asif said he is a resident of Pindi Gheb in Attock district.

He said he received calls from friends the previous day informing him that Indian forces had allegedly killed him. His friends had learned through social media that India had reported him as killed.

“After the fabricated report of my martyrdom, I started receiving phone calls. I was surprised because I was at home, so I wondered how the Indian army could have killed me,” Asif said.

Muhammad Asif said he retired from the Special Services Group (SSG) in 2023 after serving and fighting bravely for his country.

“I remain ready to serve my country whenever needed. I strongly condemn India’s baseless and fabricated allegations,” he said.

Asif added that he currently works for a security company and lives in Rawalpindi.

“India has made a false allegation against my country. I am alive, I live in Rawalpindi and I am standing before you,” he said.

India’s Press Information Bureau (PIB) claimed that the “neutralisation” of “Musa alias Asif Fauji” was part of an “ongoing, long-sustained Operation Sheruwali”, which it said had been launched in May.

“After six months of hard work, Musa alias Asif Fauji has been neutralised. Congratulations, applause,” Lt Gen Chaudhry said sarcastically while referring to the Indian claim.

He then read out the Indian allegations linking Asif to several attacks, including the Halan attack on August 23, the DKG attack in December 2023, the Kandi attack in May 2023, the Shah Sitar attack in May 2024, the Shiv Khori attack in June 2024, the Gagangeer attack in October 2024, the Boota Pahari attack in October 2024 and the Basira attack in April 2025.

The DG ISPR further noted that the Indian government had also claimed to have “neutralised” three other members of the group.

India sponsors terrorism in Pakistan

DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has alleged that India sponsors terrorist organisations to carry out terrorism in Pakistan.

He said India’s alleged funding of groups including Mukti Bahini and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was an open secret and that the support was evident to the world.

The DG ISPR said extremist Hindu leaders, including Narendra Modi, openly take pride in what he described as state-sponsored terrorism.

He alleged that India had become a centre for spreading terrorism around the world and described it as the “world’s biggest terrorist state.”

He said the people of occupied Kashmir themselves continued to highlight what he described as severe human rights abuses in the region.

According to the DG ISPR, India has been carrying out false-flag operations for decades in an attempt to defame Pakistan, while occupied Kashmir had become “the world’s biggest prison.”

He further said that “today’s India has become an encounter state” and questioned why India had carried out what he described as a false-flag operation involving retired Havaldar Muhammad Asif.

He said India had claimed a major success in “Operation Sheranwali.”

The DG ISPR also alleged that terrorism by the Afghan Taliban regime was another manifestation of what he described as India’s anti-Pakistan activities.

He further criticised Pakistan’s neighbour, describing it as a “low and mean-spirited country.”

Pakistan fully committed to Haramain security

DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Pakistan remains fully committed to implementing the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.

He said details of the Makkah Alliance could not be discussed publicly, as information regarding defence cooperation under the agreement is strictly confidential.

“The commitment of Pakistan towards the security of Haramain Sharifain is absolute,” the DG ISPR said.

He added that engaging in dialogue with the provinces was the responsibility of the federal government and reiterated that the military had no role in politics.

Army has nothing to do with politics

DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said he had repeatedly made it clear that the military had no role in politics and that he would not comment on political matters.

“Politics is the job of political parties,” he said.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the National Action Plan was formulated by politicians and should now be implemented.

He added that engaging in dialogue with the provinces was the responsibility of the federal government.
