SUKHUR (Dunya News) - Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said on Saturday the provincial government would distribute 0.5 million solar systems to the deserving people of Sindh.

Addressing a ceremony of the Sindh Solar Energy Project, he said the PPP’s chairman vision is to provide relief to the downtrodden segment of the society.

He said the PPP had started the solarization project in 2012 as the PPP chief was very clear that the masses should not have to suffer the high rate of electricity.

He said the Sindh government also talked with the World Bank which has three parts: shift government buildings into solar energy, shift schools and hospitals to the solar domain and the poor people with less means should also be provided with solar usage. The third in this category are 200,000 in number, the CM said before adding the government would leave no stone unturned to achieve this target.

Shah said all the deserving people of districts of Sindh would be provide relief under the BISP. He added in case of any natural calamity like the 2022 floods, the people would not have to live miserably as by 2026, 2.1 million houses would be completed.

He said the government has also collected debris of 15,000 tons from Karachi by utilizing which almost 50KV electricity would be produced.
